STEPHEN BUFFTON MEMORIAL EDUCATION FUND
OUTRIGHT GRANT
The Outright Grant Program (ORG) offers junior level or higher college students a scholarship that helps to offset costs associated with their college tuition, books, and fees. The amount awarded for each ORG is $2,000. ORGs are awarded and nonrenewable.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Both ABWA members and non-members may apply.
- The applicant must be a female, U.S. citizen.
- Must have completed a minimum of sixty credit hours.
- Must have achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0.
- Must be seeking a baccalaureate degree or higher.
- Must be attending an accredited U.S. college or university that offers at least a baccalaureate degree.
- Must be from Lee, Collier, or Charlotte counties.
- Must provide official transcripts, a biographical sketch and three (3) professional letters of reference dated within the same year as her application.
- - Must complete the application process online by submitting the pre-screen form by April 30, 2026 (see below) and then submitting the final application by
May 15, 2026.
- No applicant is guaranteed a scholarship.
IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP
The Impact Scholarship provides financial support to a student who is enrolled in a U.S. community college, technical or vocational school, or a college/university that offers a baccalaureate degree or higher. In all instances, the applicant's educational institutional must be licensed, accredited or state approved. The scholarship is in the amount of $2,000.

- Meet the eligibility requirements defined by the League (e.g. residency, GPA, credit hours completed, year of school completed, field of study, etc.).
- Must be from Lee, Collier, or Charlotte counties.
