Kimberly A. Dye is the Director of Development, Southwest Florida for  The Everglades Foundation , an organization that works to restore and protect the greater Everglades.  JOIN US on September 12th when Kim will share the latest updates in Everglades Restoration. She’ll also highlight the work in improving water quality for 8 million Floridians.

Kimberly A. Dye is the Director of Development, Southwest Florida for The Everglades Foundation. Kim has been leading and building development teams and entrepreneurial nonprofit initiatives for more than 25 years. Her career has taken her through two stints with Public Media organizations in Fort Myers, FL and Erie, PA, where collectively she led teams to raise over $40M to ensure NPR and PBS thrived in those local communities. Most recently Kim served as Associate General Manager, Development and Community Relations for WGCU Public Media, where she was responsible for a staff of 13, raising roughly $4.5M annually while also managing the organization’s communications, marketing and social media efforts. She also led the organization’s efforts to develop its first-ever major gifts initiative and secured over $10M for the Campaign during her tenure, including the organization’s top five, largest gifts.

Building Organizations

She has built nonprofit organizations from the ground up, taught at the university level, served within higher education as Chief of Staff to a university President and led two significant capital and endowment campaigns through her work with a nonprofit consulting firm based in New York — securing $15M with her clients during her projects in both Memphis, TN and Philadelphia, PA in less than two years’ time. Kim is ABD on her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Change, holds an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a focus on human relations and holds a B.A. in Communications.

Giving Back

Kim has always believed in giving back and throughout her career has Served on more than a dozen nonprofit Boards and advised countless nonprofit organizations and professionals. As a survivor of both diseases, Kim advocates for cures for both women’s reproductive cancers and Multiple Sclerosis. She is involved locally with the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and as a former Guardian Ad Litem with the 20 th Judicial Circuit (Collier County) she now advocates for children in the dependency and family court systems as an advisory board member for The Starfish Foundation.

Family and Personal Interests

She is married to husband, Doug a gifted woodworker and owner of Dye’s Custom Woodworking in Naples, FL, she is an adoptive mom to a larger-than-life toddler, is “Yaya” to six additional grandchildren and is she is step-mom to a variety of young adults living in both Pennsylvania and in Florida. When she isn’t spending her free time caring for her two rescue dogs she’s likely running away to the woods in her renovated RV, or on the water improving her skills in sailing and fishing.
