2018 Monthly Meetings

ABWA Imperial River Chapter meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, at the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport at Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33913. Networking starts at 5:30 PM, followed by plated dinner and speaker/activity.  Visit our Eventbrite page to reserve your seat and plated dinner ($30).

2018 Monthly Programs:

December 12, 2018 – Imperial River Chapter Holiday Party & One Year Anniversary Party

December is the time to relax and rejoice in one another’s company as the holiday spirit takes hold of us all. A special holiday meal was served, and we finally drew a winner for our Shopping Spree raffle. The prize included $650 worth of holiday gift-giving joy.  A great time was had during a great way to end our first year as an official chapter of ABWA.

November 14, 2018 – Community Connections Workshop

Members brought their computers / mobile devices and were introduced to Community Connections, ABWA National’s online membership and learning portal. Christine Wright (dual member of both Palms of Edisonia and Imperial River Chapters) walked us through the membership benefits and educational opportunities available through Community Connections.

Nikole HendraOctober 10, 2018 – Dress for Success – Nickole Hendra is the new Executive Director of Dress for Success of South West Florida

Nickole has over 15 years’ experience in nonprofit. For the past 2 years she has been at Dress for Success SW Florida and recently stepped into the role as Executive Director. Since undertaking her new role, Nickole has been active in the community, strengthening partnerships with current nonprofits and making new partnerships with organizations that share one goal…to serve unemployed and under employed women. She continues to grow the current programs Dress for Success SW Florida offers in Lee & Collier counties and hopes to reinstate the Professional Women’s Group (PWG) that has been on hiatus since 2016. In the 5 short months she has been Executive Director, she has made great strides with events and programs. She is looking forward to 2019.

September 12, 2018 – Kimberly Dye on Everglades Restoration

Kimberly Dye is the Development Director, Southwest Florida at  The Everglades Foundation.  Kim is responsible for securing the funding necessary to support the efforts of the Foundation.

Kim will share the latest updates in Everglades Restoration. She’ll also highlight the work in improving water quality for 8 million Floridians.

August 8, 2018 – Rewards and Recognition Night

ABWA believes so strongly in recognition, they’ve included it in their mission statement!  On this night, we celebrate our new officers for the new fiscal year, while also celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of our members to the chapter.

July 11, 2018 – Annual “Art Party” Night

Amy Genzlinger will lead an “Art from the Heart” party.  This has become our annual July “go to” meeting activity. Many of our members take time to travel during the summer months. We love dressing casually and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of an “Art from the Heart” party.
