Beginning as a National Geographic research study that found locations around the world where people were living significantly longer, Blue Zones Project Southwest Florida takes these secrets of longevity and applies them locally. ABOUT KATE WALTER

Kate Walter, MA, APR is the Engagement Lead for Blue Zones Project Southwest Florida. As a veteran in the public relations agency setting, Kate now manages the strategic marketing and public relations efforts of Blue Zones Project and also works with organizations to foster Blue Zones Project participation.

Kate has received PRSA Radiance Awards, FPRA Image Awards and a Gold Hermes Award for her knowledge and creativity in developing and executing communications plans. In 2016, Kate was recognized by her peers in public relations with the FPRA Rising Star Award and was also honored as a Gulfshore Business Magazine 40 under 40. Kate is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Fort Myers, and serves on the board of the Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter and AMIkids Southwest Florida.

Having grown up in Fort Myers, Kate graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor of arts in political science, a bachelor of science in telecommunications and a master of arts in international communication. In 2013, she received her accreditation in public relations (APR), achieving a level of expertise in her field and joining an elite group of professionals.
